Back to Basics
This program for middle school was developed by Howard Dieno. He would be happy to mentor a new group of leaders. Please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org (250) 380-4713 or cell: (250) 217-9568.
Choices for a Healthy Lifestyle
We have delivered this informal program through community organizations including Our Place, First+Met Seniors, Saanich Public Library, BC Housing etc. Choices is designed primarily help people living within tight budgets , to be aware of no-cost and low-cost resources in their community, find ways of getting the best possible value for purchases, and achieve the best possible quality of life. Leaders provide information and encourage the participants to share their expertise and knowledge.
This self-directed small group program to achieve and maintain optimal wellness is available only through organizations that are members of the Health Care Co-op Federation of Canada. The Victoria Health Co-op is the lead organization in British Columbia.
Victoria Co-op Day
The Mayor first proclaimed Victoria Co-op Day in 2012 as the Community outreach component of our Annual General Meeting.. In 2016 Mayor Lisa Helps shared her City Strategic Plan as the keynote comments of the day. Contributions to the 2015-2016 Narrative Report will be added under our Blog and on the VHC Facebook.
Co-op Wellness Fair
Supported by the Creating Community Wellness Society, we held the first Co-op Wellness Fair in 2015 at Fairfield United Church.
