Intro to Co-ops

What is a co-op? Starting in the fall, we will be hosting short info sessions on co-operatives: what they are, what we do, the legalities, their history, etc. From September 2018 until June 2019, each monthly session will provide an opportunity for you to learn more about how co-operatives are making a difference in Victoria. The Co-op Café events will feature retail, transportation, housing, food, social justice and additional financial co-ops in our community. We will also be hosting a political panel in March, and our January Cafe will be a movie night with popcorn. As a group, we will explore many interesting topics.

Contact us to discuss.

We welcome MODO Co-operative as our co-host of the November Co-op Café. MODO is a member-owned carshare operator in British Columbia. It was incorporated in 1997, making it the oldest carsharing organization in the area, first carshare co-op in North America. MODO amalgamated with the Victoria Carshare Co-op in 2015 and now serves 14 municipalities in the Lower Mainland and Greater Victoria.
